Are donations tax-deductible?
Yes. Receipts will be emailed right after you donate.

How does The Dream Mile run work?
Runners are of all ages and participants can run as individuals, families, groups, work teams and more. Refreshments are available after the Run and throughout the course volunteers are stationed along the route to ensure that runners stay on course.

How long is the Run?
There is a 10K,5K path, Family Run,Corporate Run route and a fitness challenge .

Can my kids participate?
Yes. Given that Vibha’s vision is to provide a brighter future for underprivileged children, it makes perfect sense to get your children involved. However, parental discretion is advised for distances.

What should I wear?
Comfortable shoes, a hat, sunglasses and extra sunscreen. Serious runners wishing to participate in the Race should wear their running gear.

Is the Run a race?
Yes, all 5K and 10 K runners are chip-timed. The timing for The Dream Mile is provided by a professional firm. Winners in each category will receive medals as prizes. However if you do not wish to run, you may still walk the trail at your own pace. We just request the “walkers” to please give way to the runners so they may be able to keep their timing.

What is a Corporate Run?
What’s better than running 20 Kms? Sharing the miles with friends! Get a team of four to run Vibha’s 20 km Half Marathon Corporate Run. We have attractive prizes for the teams.
Teams in this category are comprised of employees from the same company. The goal of the “CORPORATE RUN” team is to create opportunities for employees to run together with fellow employees for a community goal. Anyone can captain a team; team members are required to be currently employed by the company or corporation.
Team captains must notify their company or corporation of their intention to participate in this event. It is up to each team captain and team member to be sure they are in compliance with their corporation’s particular rules and regulations concerning fundraising.
HOW DOES THE RUN WORK?
• Who can Participate: Employees of a Private Corporate or Government office.
• Pick a captain to register your team
• Register online (you don’t have to know all 4 runners when you register your team).
• Each team has 4 runners; (at least ONE-woman runner would be preferred)
• Each runner runs 5 kms per loop.
• Race distance is 5 kms for each runner with a total of 20 km/team
• Registration fee per team is Rs. 2,400 only. Each runner will pay Rs. 600.
Enrolments are considered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please remember, applications are not considered to be complete until all the required information has been received and approved by the organizing committee.

What is a Family Run?
What’s better than running and promoting a healthy lifestyle in your family.
Registrations Allowed for Families Only. This race is first of its kind where 2 members of a Family run together to the finish line sharing a common BIB. We are promoting this race so that Families create a healthy fun lifestyle together and SET AN EXAMPLE for your kids. Run with a sibling, spouse, or parent.
HOW DOES THE RUN WORK?
• Who can Participate: An 2 members of a family, where at least 1 member of the team is under 16 years of age. The following can form a team:
2 siblings under 16 yrs
1 parent and 1 child under 16 yrs
Cousins do not form a family team.
. Register online
. Both runners will run 5 km together.
. The runners are expected to run together and finish together.
In case the 2 runners separate, the slower of the 2 will be considered for finish time.
• Race distance is 5 kms for each runner with a total of 10 km/team
• Registration fee per team is Rs. 900 only.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?
The event goes on. If it rains hard and it becomes too difficult to run/walk, the route will be shortened.

REGISTRATION

How do I register for the Dream Mile?
You can register online or offline. Online regsitrations have started. For offline registration, see next question. If the event is not sold out, you may register at the venue on the day of the event.

How does offline registration work?
For offline registration, form will be available for download when we start registrations. Send the scanned copy of completed registration forms at bangalore@thedreammile.org
One of us from the team will contact you for payment options.

Please note that once online registration closes (Monday 10/09 @ 11:59 pm), no offline registration forms will be accepted.

Can I register/pay on the day of the event?
Yes, it is possible to pay on the day of the event. However, we prefer if participants pre-register since that will give us an idea of the expected number of participants.
If you still want to, please plan to be at the venue early to complete registration and packet pickup.

How is the money raised through this event used?

FUNDRAISING / PLEDGES

What is a Pledge?
A pledge is an amount that is donated by an individual who wishes to support out cause.

How can I raise pledges?
Please click here for more information. Then click the ‘Create a Campaign’ button on the right to setup your own pledge page.

Are pledges a must?
No, they are not a must, but pledges are a very important part of the Run. Pledges constitute a significant portion of the funds raised through the Run. Pledging is one way of showing you support the cause. Becoming a fundraiser is another – not only are you saying you wish to support the cause , but you also help us spread the word by trying to involve your friends and family.

How is the money raised through pledges used?
The money you raise through the pledge drive is used to directly fund child development projects.

Will there be food?
Yes, there will be some light refreshments available.

 

MISCELLANEOUS

How many people will be there?
We expect around 1500 participants including children and 100+ other volunteers and spectators.

Can I bring my pets for the race? How about if on a leash?
We are fond of pets but we will not allow them on the trail for the comfort and safety of other Dream Mile runners.

Will photos be taken along the course and at the finish line? How do we receive it?
